Growing Into Greatness: Maryland's Champion Trees, 2025
Item
Identifier: Series 2
Overview
Growing majestically within Maryland’s 2.7 million acres of woodlands are twelve
national champion trees, which are the largest of their species in the U.S. What does it take to
be recognized as a champion? A little help from Mother Nature and a combination of eye-
popping measurements – height, circumference, and crown spread. Growing into Greatness is a 60-minute documentary that focuses on the natural grandeur and history of Maryland’s champion trees.
