Scope and Contents

This collection contains information about the academic January Term at Western Maryland College/McDaniel College. It is arranged into three series. The first contains copies of the January Term course catalogs for the years 1970 to 2006. The catalogs were produced by the Registrar’s Office and contain information about the College’s January Term courses, including lists of individual classes and registration information. The collection is missing catalogs for the year 2002 and 2005. Catalogs are arranged chronologically by year.

The second series contains preliminary course catalogs for the years 1970-1981. The years 1971, 1973, and 1975 are not covered. This series is also arranged chronologically by year.

The final series contains meeting minutes, inter-campus memos, and reports on the development and evaluation of January Term at Western Maryland College for the years 1970-1988. There are also newspaper clippings on student experiences with January Term for the years 1981-1983. Items are arranged chronologically.

The College ceased printing analog catalogs after the 2007-2008 year. Electronic copies of graduate catalogs issued since then can be found here.
