Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two series of records -records of the Faculty Club and records of the Western Maryland College Chapter of the American Association of University Professors. The Faculty Club was a social orgainzation that planned faculty banquets, retirement dinners, picnics, and other social events. The Club also funded several scholarships. The group that began informally in 1927 to write biographies of faculty disbanded in 1973. The Western Maryland College Chapter American Association of University Professors, AAUP is a professional organization for the advancement "of standards, ideals, and welfare of the academic profession." These records include minutes, correspondence, and other papers from the Western Maryland Chapter.
